USQ High Performance Department Update
Several changes have been made to the US National Team Program in the last month.
For ease of understanding, the US National Team Program has been renamed the High Performance Department. The department will continue to house the US National Team and USNT Developmental Academy.
As part of the bi-annual drop/add period, the following athletes have aged out of the USNTDA and, subsequently, have been released from the program: Matthew Blackwood, Rei Brodeur, Jahved Cole, Annika Kim, Keighlyn Johnson, Shane McConaghie, and Neil Peterson. Byron Ng has requested release from the program.
The next drop/add period will take place following the 2026 USQ Cup. Parties interested in being part of the USNTDA are encouraged to attend one of the remaining training camps to be scheduled for spring 2026.
The USNTDA plans to attend the upcoming Quadball Nations Cup on Oct. 3-4 in Salou, Spain. The roster for the event will be determined following the aforementioned spring drop/add period.
In preparation for Quadball Nations Cup and other international events, the High Performance Department will kick off its first fundraiser of the year on Jan. 1 with the launch of the Mile-a-Thon, a community-driven campaign supporting the USNT and USNTDA.
Throughout the month of January, fans and supporters are invited to donate toward the miles logged by participating athletes. Collectively, the goal is 3,000 miles—equivalent to 50 miles per athlete over the next four months. Athletes can count any form of movement toward their total, including running, walking, or jogging, as long as their miles are logged.
Progress updates will be shared with fans from February through May, allowing supporters to follow along as athletes work toward the collective goal. While the total number of miles will be capped, donations will not. Every contribution directly supports the continued training and development of the teams.
Applications for volunteer roles in the High Performance Department are now open. Interested parties may apply here.
