Rules and Requirements

1. Nominating A Candidate

Any USQ-registered college quadball team can submit up to two candidates of differing gender identities for the Greenhouse Award. Nominations are only accepted by filling out the form in its entirety. Teams can internally nominate Greenhouse candidates in whatever manner they choose: coach or captain selection, team vote, etc.

Regardless of the method used to nominate the player(s), each team must also submit the name of one team representative as the contact person regarding the team’s Greenhouse nominees. This team representative can be one of the players nominated for the award.

2. Eligibility Deadlines

To nominate players for the Greenhouse Award, teams must submit the Greenhouse Award Nomination form no later than May 1 at 11:59 pm ET. Once players’ names are submitted, they cannot be replaced by another player. The form opens in March.

3. Award Balloting

All voters select a first-, second- and third-place candidate for the award. First-place votes are worth five points. Second-place votes are worth four points. Third-place votes are worth two points. The candidate with the most total points will win the Greenhouse Award.

Players can place a third-place vote for a member of their own team. First- and second-place votes for a member of a player’s own team will be discarded. Players on a team’s B- and/or secondary team can only vote for a player on their A-team as a third-place vote and vice-versa. Programs that are part of a joint team will act as a singular team.

When submitting a Greenhouse Award ballot, the voter must completely fill out the ballot. Incomplete ballots will not be counted.

4. Ballot Submission

Voting for the 2026 Greenhouse Award will open May 6 and close May 13 at 11:59 pm ET. All votes must be cast online through the official ballot on the Greenhouse Award form.

5. Award Criteria

Voters should take the following criteria into account when evaluating the candidates’ play during the season:

1. Excellence on Pitch: maintains a high standard regarding attitude, effort, focus, and preparation
2. Dedication and Communal Impact: dedication to the sport of quadball and how they give back to the community
3. Good Sportsmanship: fairness, respect for opponents and officials, and graciousness in both winning and losing

6. Candidate Removal

US Quadball reserves the right to eliminate a candidate from consideration for any reason. Efforts to cheat and/or game the Greenhouse voting such as making side deals with other teams and swapping votes, having teams vote for third-place candidates only, etc. are prohibited. All decisions from US Quadball are final.

7. Physical Award

The winner of the 2026 Greenhouse Award will be announced on May 27. US Quadball will make arrangements for Greenhouse Award winners to receive the award via mail.

8. Property Rights

All material sent to US Quadball (photographs, video, etc.) become property of US Quadball.

9. Communicating About the Greenhouse Award
