Michael E. Mason
michael.mason@usquadball.org

Michael E. Mason, better known as Cupcakes, is thrilled to be returning to quadball. As an artist, Michael has been published and recognized internationally for their ability to capture images and tell stories that spark deep connection. Whether performing as a Broadway touring actor or working behind the lens on day four of a South Asian wedding, their passion and energy for storytelling are unmistakable.

A lifelong seeker of new experiences, Michael first discovered quadball in 2011 at a renaissance festival, where the NY Badassilisks were giving a demonstration. That moment sparked a journey spanning World Cups V, VI, and VII as a player, and leadership roles as Photo Director for the IQA and later USQ. Along the way, Michael collaborated closely with marketing teams to help accelerate the sport’s growth through compelling imagery and authentic storytelling. By elevating how the sport was seen and empowering others to capture that same spirit, they helped elevate how it was valued.

Now, returning to USQ as a board member, Michael is excited to bring their creative vision, institutional knowledge, and deep love for the game and its community to help shape the next chapter of quadball’s story.

Of course… you can just call them Cupcakes.
