USQ Expands Grant Opportunities for Players and Teams

US Quadball is committed to making the sport more accessible and helping programs build sustainable futures. For the 2026-27 season, USQ is offering a mix of new, returning, and revamped grants and financial support programs designed to reduce barriers for new players, help teams grow, and provide assistance when cost might otherwise keep someone off the pitch.

From individual membership assistance and team startup support to equipment grants and national championship travel funding, players and programs are encouraged to explore the opportunities available this season.

Women in Quadball Initiative

USQ will continue to offer the Women in Quadball Membership Grant, which covers the full player registration fee for one season ($85-$115 value) for women who have never previously registered as USQ players. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. You can learn more and apply through the USQ Grants page.

In conjunction with the recent gender policy update, the league has also introduced a new Women in Quadball Referral Program to encourage teams and current members to actively recruit more women to the sport.

Any registered USQ member who recruits a woman who has not held a USQ membership within the past four seasons will receive a $20 USQ credit. The credit may be applied toward an individual USQ membership, team membership, or USQ Cup registration.

The incentive applies only to individual memberships and is not valid for trial memberships. Eligible members should email membership@usquadball.org to claim their credits.

College Startup Program

Starting a college quadball program from scratch can be overwhelming. USQ's College Startup Program is designed to make that process easier by lowering the financial and logistical barriers that often stand between interested students and a sustainable program.

New and developing college teams can apply for support including free or discounted memberships, equipment, recruitment resources, mentorship, and more. The goal is to give new programs the tools they need to recruit players, get on the pitch, and build a foundation that lasts.

Team Membership Grant

The Team Membership Grant is available to cover registration for one new quadball team and one returning team each season, a value of $330-$360 per award.

Applications are due September 27 of each season, with grants awarded within the first week of October. Teams that have already registered and are subsequently awarded a grant will receive a refund.

Returning teams are eligible if they were registered with USQ during the previous season and have not previously received the grant.

BIPOC Membership Grant

The BIPOC Membership Grant provides up to four individuals with a complimentary player registration for the season, a value of $85-$115.

Applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. The grant is available to Black, Indigenous, and/or people of color who have not previously received the grant. Selected recipients will receive a redemption code to use when registering for their USQ membership.

Emergency Team Fund

Unexpected financial challenges shouldn't have to mean the end of a team's season.

Introduced last season, the USQ Emergency Team Fund is available throughout the active season to registered USQ teams experiencing serious and immediate financial hardship. Teams must be registered as an official USQ team for the same season in which assistance would be awarded.

USQ Cup Team Travel Grant

Traveling to the USQ Cup can represent one of the largest expenses of the season for collegiate programs. The USQ Cup Team Travel Grant is available to help cover a portion of collegiate teams' travel expenses to the USQ Cup.

Applications close February 15 of each season. USQ does not currently plan to offer travel support to club teams.

Let the Kids Play Grant

The Let the Kids Play Grant is back. 

Originally created in 2018, the newly-revived program provides hoops to college programs in need of equipment. Up to four sets of hoops will be awarded each season, with applications accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.

Whether you're stepping onto a quadball pitch for the first time, launching a new college program, keeping an existing team afloat, or preparing for the trip to Omaha, USQ wants to help reduce the financial barriers to participating in the sport.
