US Quadball Launches Youth Department to Grow the Next Generation of Players

US Quadball is taking an exciting step forward—one that will help grow our community, reach new players, and build the foundation for the sport’s next generation.

The USQ Youth Quadball Department will be led by Michael Rodriguez, USQ’s first Youth Quadball Director.

Rodriguez has volunteered in varying capacities for USQ beginning in 2021, including commentator and livestream production roles at multiple Regionals and Nationals. He also developed the Quadball. One application to assist with score reporting and streaming overlays for any USQ event. Previously holding the role of USQ Youth Team Lead, he now returns to the organization with extensive experience from Levio Learning, where he developed and led youth-focused educational programs designed to make learning active, inclusive, and fun. That same spirit of creativity and accessibility will now power the growth of youth quadball across the country.

This new department continues a series of major organizational changes under CEO Amanda Dallas, who joined USQ in 2025. Following the successful creation of the Collegiate Growth Department, this expansion into youth programming reflects Dallas’s ongoing focus on growth, innovation, and revenue diversification, ensuring USQ’s future remains strong and sustainable.

The Youth Department will serve two key purposes: expanding the sport to an audience USQ has largely missed–kids and families–and creating a new, sustainable revenue stream for the organization. Through partnerships with schools, recreation programs, and local organizers, the aim is to introduce quadball to communities that have never had the chance to play before.

“Quadball is an amazing team sport that thrives on chaos, imagination, and comradery,” said Rodriguez. “This sport has been a huge part of my life for many years. To share that experience with others and to see the joy on kids' faces when they try it for the first time is unmatched! I’m excited to foster the future of quadball through the next generation of athletes and help USQ grow as much as possible.”

In 2026, the Youth Department will begin rolling out pilot programs, certification opportunities for youth instructors, and youth-friendly events nationwide.

“This is more than a new initiative. It’s an investment in the future of quadball. We’re building a generation that will grow up knowing what it means to play, lead, and belong in this one-of-a-kind sport,” Dallas said.
