USQ Launches Strategic Planning Process to Shape the Next Decade
US Quadball has launched a comprehensive strategic planning process to chart the organization’s direction for the next decade.
Planning kicked off in January and the process will run through the first week of July. This effort will produce a board-approved strategic plan that outlines clear goals across three key timeframes: a three-year operational roadmap, a five-year organizational growth plan, and a 10-year vision map for the sport’s future.
“Our planning process and timeline is ambitious but the organization has already burned too much time. There is an emphasis on aligning around priorities such as collegiate growth, youth expansion, club sustainability, financial resilience, accessibility, and community engagement. From start to finish, the process is designed to be collaborative and transparent, grounded in real data and shaped by input from our community,” CEO Amanda Dallas said.
The planning committee is led by Dallas and USQ Board Chair Bernie Berges. It includes board members Alexia Barnes, Justin Bogart, Clay Dockery, Michael E. Mason, and Patrick Rardin; USQ Collegiate Growth Department members Luke Oppenheim, Michael Pascutoi, and Curtis Taylor; and USQ Executive Assistant Erin Moreno. Other USQ volunteers and community stakeholders will be asked to contribute depending on the phase.
The planning work is divided into 10 phases.
The strategic planning committee is currently in phase two, preparing guiding materials and initial engagement sources such as financial and membership data and surveys. From February 17 to March 7, the discovery phase will include the launch of said surveys and interviews, followed by a SWIFT analysis and revenue/participation forecasts. Beginning in March, the committee will work to confirm the long-term vision and define key strategic pillars that will anchor the plan.
March 22 through April 11 will focus on building the three-year operating strategy, including department goals, benchmarks, and growth targets. The following month will translate those short-term tactics into broader five- and 10-year strategies, addressing areas such as national expansion, youth program integration, and infrastructure for professionalization. May will be dedicated to financial modeling and feasibility, ensuring that the plan is executable based on available and projected resources. Internal review and refinement will follow in late May and early June, leading to formal board approval by June 20. The process concludes with a public rollout, strategic summary, and department OKRs finalized by July 1.
Community input is central to the success of this plan.
In addition to surveys, USQ will host virtual town halls, focus groups, and roundtables, and offer open office hours with Berges and Dallas. A public feedback form is now open, and the new Strategic Planning Hub will serve as the home base for updates, resources, and ways to get involved.
“I am so excited to celebrate USQ’s 20th anniversary with this process. We will continue our positive momentum and fuel growth and prosperity over the next 10 years,” said Board Chair Bernie Berges.
All players, volunteers, officials, and spectators are invited to take part in this process. Visit the Strategic Planning Hub to explore the timeline, submit feedback, and check out upcoming events as they drop. Berges and Dallas will be hosting their first open office hours this Friday, Feb. 13 from 12 - 2 pm ET. Members of the community are welcome to stop by and inquire about the strategic planning process and present thoughts and ideas they would like to see considered.
